APM unveils Adekunle as Osun Central Senatorial Candidate
The Osun Chairman of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Mr Adewale Adebayo, has unveiled Dr Ibrahim Adekunle, as the party’s Senatorial Candidate for Osun Central ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The unveiling was done in Osogbo on Thursday by the state chairman who described Adekunle as one capable to occupied the position.
Adebayo said the senatorial candidate’s investments in education, healthcare, skills development and youth empowerment had demonstrated his commitment to community development.
He said that representation should go beyond occupying a seat at the National Assembly but creating opportunities, attracting development , and giving constituents a stronger voice.
According to him,the party will take the campaign to 10 Local Government Areas in Osun Central including wards, communities, markets, youth groups and women’s organisations.
“This campaign will not live on social media alone. We are taking it to the grassroots.
“We assured APM candidates across the state for the support of the party’s leadership and structures during the electioneering,” he said
He added that the party would unveil and mobilise support for its other National Assembly and State Assembly candidates across the state.
The chairman said Nigeria needed a generational transition in leadership and urged young people to move beyond participating in election campaigns to becoming active participants in governance.
He noted that youths in the state must not continue to be useful only during elections , carrying posters, attending rallies ,and voting while others make the decisions that determine their future.
“It is time for young people to move from the crowd to the table; from mobilisation to participation; from spectators to decision-makers.
” APM is presenting a distinct political platform ahead of 2027 and we urged voters to examine candidates, their programmes, records and capacity before making their choices,” Adebayo said.
He appealed to youths to reject political violence and participate peacefully in the democratic process.
Adebayo called on APM members and supporters to remain united and disciplined as the party commenced its mobilisation ahead of the elections.
He , therefore, urged Adekunle to carry the mandate of the people with humility and remain accessible with concerns of his constituents when elected into office .
